About Us

The Oda House Route was created to guide you into the heart of Western Georgia, where centuries-old wooden houses still breathe with family memories, craftsmanship, and tradition. Developed by the Georgian Ecotourism Association (GEA), the route connects four regions — Imereti, Guria, Samegrelo, and Racha-Lechkhumi — into one living cultural landscape. Our mission is to reveal the hidden beauty of Oda houses, preserve their architectural and symbolic heritage, and support the families who maintain them. Every Oda tells its own story: carved balconies that filter sunlight like lace, wooden beams that echo the knowledge of old masters, and rooms arranged around the ancient idea of the hearth. We work closely with local households to revive traditional crafts, promote rural hospitality, and help transform heritage into sustainable livelihood. Along the route, travellers discover authentic farm-to-table cuisine, handmade products, family workshops, and experiences shaped by nature and community. This route is not only about preserving the past — it is about bringing it into the present in a way that empowers local people and enriches the visitor experience. We believe that cultural heritage is most meaningful when it remains alive, evolving, and shared openly with those who seek to understand it. The Oda House Route invites you to slow down, listen, feel, and enter a world where architecture becomes story, and story becomes home.
